I certify that adequate and timely notification
was made of the intention of the parties concerned to apply to the Legislative Council of Hongkong for an Ordinance styled
"An Ordinance to authorise the British Traders Insurance
Company Limited to convert its silver capital into gold"
before the same was brought into the Legislative Council, Such
notification was made in the manner following:-
Notification of the intention of the parties to
apply for the said Ordinance was advertised in two issues of
the Government Gazette on the 7th and 14th March, 1919; in four
issues of the four English Newspapers circulating in the Colony, namely,
The Hongkong Daily Press on the 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th
March, 1919;
The Hongkong Telegraph on the 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th
March, 1919;
The South China Morning Post on the 8th, 11th, 13th and
14th March, 1919;
The China Mail on the 8th, 11th, 13th and 14th March,
1919;
and in four issues of one Chinese Newspaper circulating in the
Colony, namely,
The Wa Tez Yet Po on the 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th March,
1919.
A draft of the proposed said Ordinance was further published
in two issues of the Government Gazette on the 7th and 14th
March, 1919.
A proof of the notification was made before me in
Executive Council.
